Drums
Meridian, MS
At 69 years old, Emmitt Clarke is a highly respected drummer whose rhythm has been at the foundation of Wolf Jackson’s sound from the very beginning. Hailing from Meridian, Mississippi, Emmitt is a seasoned veteran of the music industry, having played on over 100 recordings across blues, rock, country, and soul, making him a true legend behind the kit.
As the original drummer for most of "Vagabonds & Beggars," Emmitt’s playing set the tone for Wolf Jackson’s early sound, blending deep-pocket grooves with Southern grit and bluesy finesse. His steady, road-worn touch gave the band an authentic, timeless feel, shaped by decades of experience performing with some of the best in the business.
Though he had to step down for "No Name Needed" and "3 Chord Dance" due to health concerns, Emmitt’s impact on the band never faded. Now, with his health recovering, he is set to return for select tracks on Wolf Jackson’s yet-to-be-titled fourth album, bringing his legendary feel and unmistakable presence back to the band.
With a career spanning decades of recordings, countless live shows, and an undeniable influence on Wolf Jackson’s history, Emmitt Clarke is more than just a drummer—he’s the heartbeat of the band’s legacy, and his return marks the continuation of a story that’s far from over.
